Even in the rare populated Ladakh there are hardly any long treks during which you rarely meet people. This 15-days-trek from Zanskar to the Tsomoriri-lake in Changthang is one of these. The high pass Phirtse-la (5.580 m) is a good challenge few days after starting. Despite just having a second pass (Pangpo-la 5.350 m)the landscape is really diversified. In the (early) summer the rivers can be still quite high and therefore a bit tiring as one has to cross them often. But you are rewarded with a total deserted area (not even nomads are between Thingting Khurd and Kiangshisa). A really very special experience! Culture will be good to see during the slow travel via Indus- and Zanskarvalley.
